Motor Vehicle Accidents May Have Fatal Outcomes For Motorcyclists

Collisions involving motorcycles and other vehicles may be some individuals’ worst nightmare. Though many motorcyclists may choose to focus on the enjoyment of the ride rather than the potential hazards, the risk of motor vehicle accidents in New Haven is often high for motorcyclists. Unfortunately, these accidents often have harrowing outcomes.

A Motorcycle Crash Incident That Occurred In Connecticut

It was recently reported that a motorcycle crash in Connecticut resulted in one man’s death. The motorcyclist was traveling east when he and a vehicle heading north collided. It was unclear how the collision took place exactly. It was noted that the incident took place at approximately 1:20 a.m. Additionally, the crash was still under investigation at the time of the report, so more information may become available later.

The event resulted in the motorcyclist suffering fatal injuries. He was reported as being 28 years old and was declared deceased at an area hospital just after 2 a.m. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital as well, but it was unclear what type of injuries that individual may have suffered in the event. It was not mentioned whether any citations were issued.

Should I File A Wrongful Death Claim After A Motorcycle Death?

If the surviving driver is considered at fault for the fatal event, the family of the motorcyclist may have reason to file a wrongful death claim in New Haven against that individual in civil court. This type of legal claim could allow them to seek compensation for damages permitted under Connecticut law. Information on this legal avenue may allow them — and others similarly affected by motor vehicle accidents — to better understand this option and its potential benefits.
